This report covers work accomplished in two phases for the above named project and contract number. Phase I presents the skid characteristics of 19 hot mixed dense-graded, asphaltic concrete overlay projects placed primarily to improve the riding surface. The deterioration of the skid resistance with time and traffic, mix properties and their skid characteristics, and the merits of photo-interpretation of the surface texture are discussed. Phase II presents a statistical and economical evaluation of running statewide skid resitance inventory for Louisiana. The final method of running such an inventory is presented. /Author/
