PERSPECTIVES ON TRAVELLER BEHAVIOUR: METHODOLOGICAL RESPONSES TO A RANGE OF EVOLVING CONTEXTS. IN: TRAVEL BEHAVIOUR RESEARCH. THE LEADING EDGE
The focus of the paper is consideration of whether travel behavior methodology is keeping up with evolving contexts, i.e., the extent to which present methodology enables sufficient understanding of the contemporary state of personal travel, and of the processes of change that brought it about. The following topics are discussed: personal/community strategies for travel; tactics and factors that affect individual activities/travel; en route micro behaviors; and, societal level strategies in response to trends.
