TRAFFIC PLANNING IN THE 49TH STATE
Alaska has the distinction of being both the smallest state, in terms of population, and the largest state in terms of land area. At a time of rapidly increasing statewide population growth (the early 1960s), this article looks at traffic planning efforts in Alaska deemed necessary for the state to be able to deal with both current and future road and highway infrastructure needs and traffic volume demands.
