TESTING A TRAFFIC ASSIGNMENT ALGORITHM. IN VEHICULAR TRAFFIC SCIENCE
In this paper, a modified algorithm for the so-called Wayne arterial assignment method is presented. Different test runs are described. These indicated that the Wayne method can be considered an iterative procedure for solving the traffic assignment problem in accordance with the principle of equal travel times. An extension of the algorithm to work on expressions for travel resistance, other than time, is outlined.
