THE RESEARCH IN HIGHWAY PLANNING AND RESEARCH IN CONSTRUCTION

This article discusses highway planning and construction research. It lists the major organizations that coordinate and conduct highway research and relates the areas of current research. It discusses the provision of roads to study heavy trucks and describes origin-destination studies. Research in urban transportation, traffic models, advances in road building, and the traveling form-paver (paving machine for concrete pavements) are also covered in the article.
