MOBILITY FOR ALL : TOWARDS BARRIER-FREE ENVIRONMENT IN YOGYAKARTA- INDONESIA
This article describes a simulation exercise with more than 40 transportation planners and other participants to suggest how to implement barrier-free policies along a 3-km strip of the commercial district in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Mobility needs extend beyond those of the disabled to the elderly, and not just the infirm elderly, children of all sizes and caregivers with small children or other special responsibilities.
