ROADSIDE TELEPHONE PILLARS
PRAATPALEN
Results of impact tests with three types of roadside telephone pillars were analyzed. The construction of the telephone pillars differed as regards the thickness of their inner tube and the way in which their different components were joined together. It is concluded that the thickness of the inner tube plays an important role for the deceleration of the colliding vehicle. The improvements in construction and the joining of pillar components are discussed. /TRRL/
