RADIONAVIGATION APPLICATIONS WITHIN THE U.S. MARITIME COMMUNITY. U.S. COAST GUARD SUPPORT DOCUMENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. NATIONAL PLAN FOR NAVIGATION
The study was accomplished as an input to the Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Study and concurrently as background from which the Coast Guard may participate in the development of a joint FAA/USCG/DOD position regarding total U.S. needs and systems. The latter position, upon concurrence of the tree agencies, may then be published as the National Plan for Navigation when approved by the Secretary of Transportation. Based on the plan, the methodology suggested in this study for budget support, on-going system development recommendations, and the identified areas of potential need, the Coast Guard may then develop its own long range plan in implementation of those facets of the National Plan for which it is responsible. /Author/
