EUROPEAN BUS FLEET TEST
The article discusses the participation of ten European metropolitan areas in a joint fleet test with DaimlerChrysler fuel cell project and its bus subsidiary EvoBus. The goal of this effort is to significantly enhance the development of clean urban transit. Three buses will be operated and a hydrogen refueling station will be erected in each of the participating cities. The delivery of the buses will begin by the end of 2002. The buses will be operated in public transit under normal traffic conditions for a period of two years. The field tests are expected to deliver significant amounts of data in support of the development process towards commercially viable fuel cell buses.
