DRAINING ASPHALTS: CONCLUSIONS DRAWN FROM THE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF THE TWO EXPERIMENTAL ROAD SITES
This paper describes the results of assessing draining asphalt pavement on two trafficked road sites in France. Performance was measured over a seven-year period. Aspects tested included rolling noise and acoustic performance, permeability and water splash, surface texture characteristics, skid resistance, deformation and mechanical behaviour of the components. The results confirm the usefulness and durability of draining asphalts on motorways.
