A SIMPLE PULL-OUT TEST TO ASSESS THE STRENGTH OF IN-SITU CONCRETE
The objective of the research described in this paper was to produce a simple test causing little disruption to provide direct information on the strength of high alumina cement concrete in prestressed x-shaped beams produced under factory controlled conditions. A pull-out test which is based on the correlation between compressive strength of concrete and the forces in a wedge anchor needed to produce internal cracking in concrete, was developed. The test method and the research leading to its application are described. /Author/TRRL/
