TRIP GENERATION - 7TH EDITION

"Trip Generation" is an educational tool for planners, transportation professionals, zoning boards and others who are interested in estimating the number of vehicle trips generated by a proposed development. This document is based on more than 4,250 trip generation studies submitted to the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) by public agencies, developers, consulting firms and associations. The Seventh Edition of "Trip Generation" has undergone several significant changes in format and content as compared to the Sixth Edition. The three volumes of this report have been reassigned: Volume 1 is now the "User's Guide," which contains general introductory, instructional and appendix material; Volumes 2 and 3 contain land use descriptions and data plots. Sixteen new land use classifications and data from more than 500 sites have been added in the Seventh Edition. In addition, revisions have been made throughout the "User's Guide" and to several land use codes, independent variables and land use descriptions. Volumes 2 and 3 are organized according to the following major headings (land uses): Port and Terminal; Industrial; Residential; Lodging; Recreational; Institutional; Medical; Office; Retail; and Services.
