STATIC AND DYNAMIC LOADING OF PAVEMENT SYSTEMS

KORETOIERS STATISKE OG DYNAMISKE PAVIRKNINGER AF VEJBEFAESTELSER

In the present report, an account is presented of the present state of knowledge concerning static- and dynamic- loading of pavement systems, insofar as this has been possible through a study of the available German, British and American scientific literature. An account of the character of the dynamic forces encountered on pavement surfaces is given in relation to measurements conducted on pavements as well as vehicles. The dependence of these dynamic forces on the characteristics of both pavements and vehicles is analysed. Finally, a method is outlined with which it may be possible to statistically analyse problems concerning the relationship between dynamic effects of wheel loads and road roughness. /Author/
