TRENDS IN THE USE OF ASHES FROM POWER PLANTS

PERSPECTIVELE UTILIZARII CE CENUSILOR DE TREMOCENTRALA LA CONSTRUCTIA DRUMURILOR DIN TARA NOASTRA

Details are given of ashes from power plants in Rumania, and of their composition which can vary according to the quality of the coal used. Utilization of these ashes in road construction is discussed: improvement in the particle size distribution of local materials for foundations, earthworks, insulating layers filler or fines in bituminous mixtures, and in non-skid surface treatments. Laboratory studies and investigations on experimental roads are described. Attention is drawn to present difficulties of transport and storage. /TRRL/
