PEDESTRIANS AS A RISK GROUP IN TRAFFIC SAFETY IN YUGOSLAVIA
The aim of this study was to discover the age group most at risk among injured and killed pedestrians, as well as to suggest a system of preventive health measures for these groups at risk. Pedestrians represent one of the risk groups of traffic participants in Yugoslavia. They are victims in 25% of accidents. Topographical analysis of pedestrian accidents shows that they take place principally in populated areas (84.5%) and during road crossing (68.09%). 15.5% of pedestrian accidents occur on the open road, in many cases when the pedestrian moves in an irregular manner. /TRRL/
