EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON DETERMINATION OF TENSILE STRENGTH OF ROAD FOUNDATION SOIL
This paper conducts the elasto-plastic stress analysis for ring with different strength in tension and compression to use generalized twin shear stress strength theory. Following analysis of the results, a test was set up for measuring tensile strength of compacted loess with different compacted factors is proposed. A relationship between tensile strength and dry unit weight of soils is established. The test results are reproducible and reliable.
