PLANNING AND DESIGNING A COMMUNITY BICYCLE SYSTEM
A simplified and rational process was developed for planning and designing a community-wide bicycle system for functional and recreational travel. A study staff was directly involved through the development phase. Inputs were provided on geometric design, signing, marking and pavement design after the final location and the degree of traffic separation have been established for each section of the bicycle system. Public support is essential for the adaption and the implementation of the system for the realization of community-wide travel by bicycle. /TRRL/
