Recommendations are given for the lay-out of cycle tracks. They should not coincide with highways for motor traffic; safe and convenient crossings should be made at junctions; the road surface should be smooth; the tracks should be sheltered from rain and wind, either by being sited in built up areas or by trees being planted along the track. The moped, which is noisy, nearly as fast as the car, but as vulnerable as the cyclist constitutes a problem. /TRRL/
