CADSS: A SPATIAL MODEL FOR POLICY, DESIGN AND RESEARCH
CADSS: EEN RUIMTELIJK MODEL VOOR BELEID EN ONDERZOEK
The CADSS project (Concentration and Deconcentration Simulation Study) deals with the development and application of a disaggregated spatial allocation model. This paper concentrates on an interim situation; the so-called aggregated model CADSS-01. After the introduction, Chapter Two describes the model as an instrument for spatial planning, based on objectives concerning land use and developed. The main purpose is not to frecast a future situation, but to calculate the consequences of any spatial plan. In Chapter Three the aggregated model is set up in a general way. The model introduces a) the residential environment as an attraction factor, b) a more-dimensional attraction function for characterizing the zones, and the replacement of the specific iterative method of the lowry model. Finally in Chapter Four there will be a discussion on allocation models, considering some questions raised in literature. /Author/TRRL/
