LIFTING SURFACE APPROACH TO PLANING BOAT DESIGN
The utilization of a design approach for a planing boat similar to that followed in the design of a hydrofoil boat or an airplane leads to a new, more efficient type of planing boat configuration. The lift-draft ratio of the new configuration is approximately 50 percent greater than that of the conventional stepless planing boat.
