GAS TURBINE EVOLUTION
The paper discusses the continuing evolution of the gas turbine, and makes a board assessment of future prospects. The scope for further development of the various facets of gas turbine technology is considered first. The second part of the paper suggests how gas turbine powerplants for aeronautical, marine and land-based applications might evolve as a result of technical, economic and environmental influences.
