TRAFFIC IMPACT ASSESSMENT STUDY
The purpose of this paper is to highlight an ArcInfo and TRANSPLAN integration-based computer and geographic information system (GIS) application for Ankara, Turkey's 1995 traffic impacts and traffic loads on Ankara's urban transportation network. The application also forecasts traffic impacts and traffic loads for the year 2005. The application includes calculation and determination of exhaust emission factors, and acoustic pressure levels in the vicinity of each highway segment due to traffic flow. Ankara's 1995 and 2005 traffic networks were analyzed by capacity, volume, noise pollution and environmental impacts of carbon monoxide emissions. Land use and digital elevation models of Ankara were pondered. Software utilized for the application included ArcInfo, ArcView and Oracle.
