CLOTHING AGAINST EXPOSURE
The adverse effects of cold and discomfort on human performance are a factor to be considered in the accident rate for commercial fishermen. The functions of a person exposed to cold slow down and if he is unaware of this, he becomes more accident prone. Clothing should be chosen which restricts the flow of air round the body but does not prevent adequate ventilation. Specific recommendations are made concerning the amount and type of clothing for protection from both cold and water.
