The study described here attempted to inventory all drainage structures to determine present and future adequacy, and to recommend remedial measures, provide cost estimates and establish priorities to those structures found to be inadequate. The study also attempted to provide each municipality with general guidelines for improving local stormwater drainage systems, and to provide a coordinated program for drainage improvement in the country. A study was made to determine the flood discharges that could be expected. A computer program was devised to determine the hydrology and hydraulics of each system. An alphanumeric system was established which indicated both the need for and desirability of making repairs. A summary cost/priority comparison sheet was prepared for each municipality, listing the total number of adequate and inadequate structures and the total cost of making all the recommended repairs in each priority category.
