STRESS ANALYSIS OF LONGITUDINAL/GIRDER CONNECTIONS

The detail structural design of the intersection between a longitudinal stiffener and a transverse girder has been analysed by the the finite element method. Stress concentration factors are given for alternative designs together with practical design recommendations.
