INTRODUCING THE PML ALUMINIUM PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE SYSTEM
Standardised structural elements based on specifically designed aluminium extruded sections are used for a flexible pedestrian bridge system. The bridge is composed of prefabricated welded walking platform elements and simple hollow shapes for diagonals and verticals. Possibilities of a folding bridge or heavier elements for vehicle crossings are being considered. Erection is very simple and rapid with lightweight elements, and the structure is described as maintenance-free. Life-cycle cost concepts and parameters are mentioned.
