ANALYSIS OF ADVANCED AUTONOMOUS AND INFRASTRUCTURE BASED DRIVETRAIN CONTROL SYSTEMS WITH MINIMIZED EMISSIONS AND OPTIMIZED DRIVING COMFORT
In this paper, the authors first describe the FORFAHRT project which is focused on identifying and analyzing improved low-emission drivetrain structures for integration into a driver assistance system. The analysis was performed using the traffic simulation program PELOPS which modeled the primary elements of traffic, including route environment, driver and vehicle. The paper then describes the results of the analysis. The reduction in fuel consumption of an advanced vehicle control system that integrates traffic data and optimized drivetrain structure is discussed.
