SENSITIVITY OF SIGNAL CONTROL PERFORMANCE TO PREDICTION ERRORS IN TRAFFIC FLOW DATA
This paper focuses on the sensitivity of control performance to prediction errors in traffic flow data. Calculations are presented for the total delays for signal control strategies based on erroneous flow data. A discrete-time model is developed for describing the dynamic behavior of oversaturated urban road networks. Results from the study can be applied to estimating the range of conditions for which specific signal settings are appropriate.
