EXTREME RESPONSE : CIVIL DISTURBANCES HAVE ENORMOUS TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC IMPLICATIONS

This article describes how the GOVLINK traveler information system, a dedicated website set up in the Seattle, Washington metropolitan area was successful in helping the area cope with traffic challenges due to riots. The system was able to provide travelers with information regarding changes in traffic conditions and transit services.
