DEVELOPMENT OF EFFICIENT OPERATIONAL CONTROL USING OBJECT REPRESENTATION

Central Japan Railway Company introduced an epoch-making programmed route control system (PRC) to the Tokaido main line of the Shizuoka district. PRC is a system to control signals based on train traffic diagrams. This study developed a function to change control order of trains at all stations inside PRC's management section with one operation, by operating train lines with a mouse in a train traffic diagram displayed on a screen. When train traffic is disordered, a train traffic manager changes train traffic data using a graphic display (GD) for operation arrangement use. When using a conventional PRC, the manager changes order by inputting changed timetables and changing running order data at every station. The study developed a form that can be used to input this information. The screen of GD displays all train lines. As a train traffic manager designates a train line and section that needs to be changed, the manager is able to drag the train line on the screen.
