PERFORMANCE IS EVERYTHING: PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT PRODUCES RESULTS
Through performance measurement, the U.S. Coast Guard is increasingly able to quantify its achievements and articulate how it uses taxpayer dollars to benefit the nation. This article discusses how the U.S. Coast Guard uses information acquired through performance measurement to implement perormance-based management programs to successfully achieve its 5 strategic goals of: maritime safety, maritime security, protection of natural resources, maritime mobility, and national defense.
