USE OF THE THEORY OF RELIABILITY IN RAILWAY BRIDGE DESIGN
O PRIMENENII TEORII NADEZNOSTI V RASCETAH ZELEZNODOROZNYH MOSTOV
As a basic criterion of reliability, it is proposed to apply the probability of failure-free service for bridges. The article gives a classification of types of bridge failure, and recommendations for a quantitative assessment of criteria, as to their reliability when designing the structure.
