LANE DETECTION AND TRACKING BY VIDEO SENSORS
This paper describes a video sensor system that is able to capture vehicle environment data. It consists of a high dynamic range camera and image processing software. Focus of the paper is on a real-time lane detection and tracking algorithm which is able to determine the course of the road ahead of the vehicle together with the position of the vehicle. Significant features of the system include its self- assessment capabilities and its ability to adapt to most weather conditions and road types without any external adjustments.
