PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS AND OPTIMIZATION OF VEHICULAR SPREAD SPECTRUM RADAR USING MULTI-BEAM ANTENNA

In this paper, the authors propose a vehicular radar system using a direct sequence spread spectrum technique. The system is able to measure the distance to, the relative speed of, and the direction of arrival (DOA) of the reflected wave from multiple targets or vehicles. The authors focus on the relationship between the number of multiple beams and the error probability of DOA estimation. In addition, they also investigate the relationship between the results of the distance estimation and the DOA estimation. Computer simulation in a multipath environment is used to evaluate the system's performance.
