A METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING SPECIFIC VEHICLES USING TEMPLATE MATCHING
This paper addresses the issue of vehicle identification in traffic signal preemption. The authors describe a method for identifying buses which uses a template matching process. In addition, they propose an identification method which uses a new recognition algorithm. The recognition precision of this methodology is verified through an installation of a television camera and processing equipment on a road.
