DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A ROAD CONGESTION ANALYSIS SYSTEM USING REGIONAL INFORMATION

This paper describes the design and implementation of a road congestion analysis system using regional information. A multi-step image processing system is used to extract vehicle regions from road images. The method is able to measure road congestion without additional information such as background images. It does, however have the restriction of be applied to road images without shadow.
