EFFECT OF A BUS LOCATION INFORMATION SYSTEM ON THE DEMAND FOR BUSES

This study presents a method for evaluating bus location information systems that are based on the activities of passengers. The authors investigate issues such as passenger frustration due to delays and the frequency in which plans are changed. A simulation of passenger activities is conducted using accumulated data, while bus travel is simultaneously simulated, providing information on different service levels.
