HUMAN FACTORS IN VECTOR MAP DESIGN : THE IMPORTANCE OF TASK-DISPLAY DEPENDENCE
This paper studies the role of human factors in map design. Focus is on the frame of reference for 3D maps and the issue of database overlay. The author discusses how empirical data can aid in both defining the best map-task mappings and providing a computational to predict the best map for each task.
