AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF PREVIEW CONTROL

In this paper, the authors measure the benefits of wheel-base preview control using a prototype semi-active damper in a half car Hardware- in-the-loop" rig. It was found that preview control can be used to compensate for the phase lag between demanded and achieved damping forces. Additionally, it was shown that benefits are available for controllable suspensions through Phase Lag Compensation (PLC).
