UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO BRIDGE RESEARCH
A major bridge testing and analysis program is underway at the University of Colorado. To date, 40 bridges have been tested. Testing will continue for another half a dozen bridges. Dynamic measurements of truck traffic are being recorded for five days on many of the test bridges. The test bridges have been selected in 13 states and they include all bridge types that are commonly used in design. In addition, they were selected at locations with high density traffic of heavily loaded trucks. Due to space limitations, this paper can only discuss the various parts of the program very briefly.
