TRANSPACIFIC FLIGHT: THE CASE FOR A STRATEGIC HUB
This paper outlines the practical feasibility of a United States (U.S.) carrier establishing a strategic, directional and complexing hub in order to facilitate the flow of passengers across the Pacific Ocean. Presently, U.S. carriers fly nonstop to very few Asian cities and are limited by market demand as to the number of locations they can serve through nonstop flights. The paper identifies Honolulu as the most viable candidate for the transpacific hub, and presents the numerous advantages identified.
