FREIGHT CONTAINERS: PART 9: CODING, IDENTIFICATION AND MARKING
This standard specifies an identification system with an associated system for verifying the accuracy of its use, having mandatory marks for the presentation of the identification system for visual interpretation and optional marks which may be used for automatic machine readable information (AMRI) system purposes. It also specifies a data coding system for country and container size and type with corresponding optional marks for display of operational marks (mandatory and optional) and physical presentation of marks. This Standard is reproduced from ISO 6346:1995 and introduces requirements for Series R freight containers in an appendix. (a) The Standard was approved on behalf of the Council of Standards Australia on 31 August 1999. It supersedes AS/NZS 3711.9:1993
