PROTECTION SYSTEMS FOR MECHANICAL SEALS
Several methods for preventing damage to mechanical seals caused by heat and abrasives in pumped liquids are discussed. Guidelines are provided for external flushing, barrier fluids and quenching methods including advantages and disadvantages of using each.
