THE STEREO-ORTHOPHOTO TECHNIQUE OF CADASTRAL AND GENERAL MAPPING

The orthophoto technique has found increasing favor in recent years among earth scientists, environmentalists, and others because of its efficiency and simplicity. Its accuracy equals that of most precise maps, but its production is much more rapid, being automatized to a high degree. The stereo-orthophoto technique overcomes the limitations of single orthophotos. The various instruments for production and processing of stereo-orthophotos are described as a prelude to the explanation of the use of this technique in integrated large-scale mapping, including cadastre.
