MERCHANT MARINE ACT, 1936, THE MARINE SECURITY ACT OF 1966, THE SHIPPING ACT OF 1984, AND RELATED ACTS (AS AMENDED THROUGH THE FIRST SESSION OF THE 106TH CONGRESS)
The Maritime administration (Marad) has determined that there is a need for an up to date compilation of maritime laws. In 1995, Marad published the first edition of 'Compilation of Maritime Law' (Compilation). It was well received by various government agencies, the U.S. Congress, and the public, including members of the maritime bar and community. In response to numerous requests, the Compilation has been published annually since then. Interest in the Compilation continues, and this, the fifth edition, sets forth certain maritime laws through the 1st Session of the 106th Congress.
