STATE AGENCY COORDINATION IN STATE GROWTH MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS. IN: MODERNIZING STATE PLANNING STATUTES: THE GROWING SMART WORKING PAPERS, VOLUME ONE
Early conceptions of state planning identified interagency coordination as an important component of the planning function. To date, however, even the most aggressive state growth management efforts have made only modest progress toward wrapping state agencies into a coordinated planning and growth management structure. This working paper reviews state provisions for interagency coordination, followed by a discussion of the elements of potential legislation dealing with state interagency coordination.
