THE USE OF MECHANICAL COUNTS FOR COLLECTION OF OTHER TRAFFIC DATA
GEBRIUK VAN MECHANISCHE TELGEGEVENS VOOR ANDERE VERKEERSWAARNEMINGEN
By the use of a restricted number of mechanical counts it is possible to prepare and organise an extensive visual data collection. By means of peak hour factors and subfactors the most suitable days for collecting reliable and representative data can be chosen simply and cheaply. The percentage of weeks with rush hour intensities having a percentage of weeks with rush hour intensities having A Poisson distribution. Although this article is restricted to the preparation of mechanically collected data on rush hours, and conclusions are drawn concerning only the days in question, it is possible to extend the application to a wider time scale. /TRRL/
