DURABILITY STUDY OF DRAINAGE PAVEMENT
The Hyogo-ken nambu earthquake occurred in 1995 and hit the Kobe metropolitan area and the Hanshin Expressway Kobe Route was seriously damaged. Hanshin Expressway Public Corporation (HEPC) restored the damaged structures and conducted the drainage pavement on the continuous elevated structures. There was really little cause for the drainage pavement for bridges to be conducted in such a huge scale because there was very few basic data available in order to develop a maintenance plan. HEPC have executed the investigation to know the time variation of serviceability of the road surface since 1996. In this paper, the degradation of serviceability and functions of the drainage pavement was specified by means of analyzing the damage data over the past 6 years and the before and after results are discussed.
