MECHATRONICS TECHNOLOGIES FOR INTELLIGENT TRAINS
Mechatronics is an integrated approach to the design of complex engineering systems, involving electronics, mechanical and computer engineering. The paper reviews the development of mechatronics and its application for intelligent trains. When applied to rolling stock, it can result in lower mass, increased energy efficiency and enhanced commercial viability while maintaining the normal high standards of performance, comfort, and safety.
