A TRULY SUSTAINABLE SITE
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and its General Engineering Consultant, Parsons Brinkerhoff Tudor-Turner Associates were using the principles of sustainable sites in the transit system's facilities design and construction even before sustainable development became the driving force that it is today. MARTA project CF524, North Line - Earthwork and Drainage - North Springs Station Site won the 2001 Transit Environmental Award as a truly sustainable site.
